About
Echoes of the Forest
Our Organization
Echoes of the Forest is a post-Hurricane Helene project aimed at transforming downed trees of Western North Carolina's (WNC) devastated forests into an artistic and healing experience. By collaborating with local artisans, the project seeks to honor fallen trees by turning chosen tree remnants into beautiful, functional, and reflective works of art—benches, arches, sculptures, and more— eventually and strategically placed across WNC in public and private spaces.
Our Mission
To create a meaningful and artistic education memorial for the fallen trees of Western North Carolina (WNC) in the wake of Hurricane Helene. Our goal is to transform the devastation into a project of hope and healing, enlisting local artists and engaging the community while boosting regional tourism.

Our Vision
Our vision is to bring hope and awareness about our magnificent forests & trees that have stood alongside us for generations. This tragic event not only took out thousands of trees, it displaced people from their homes, destroyed businesses and people’s livelihood in just a few long hours.
Our vision is to bring joy to local artists, residents, and visitors of WNC. To bring closure to an event that was so destructive yet pushed our community together, making us stronger than ever.
Our vision is to bring tangible ways to reflect on a time when WNC was a thriving community and not victims of a storm.
