We are so grateful. Echoes of the Forest has received a $10,000 grant from the Biltmore Championship Asheville’s inaugural Community Grant Program, and it is going straight into one of our most meaningful projects yet.
Where the Grant Is Going
The grant will fund two artistic entrance archways for Gateway Park, RiverLink’s new bike and pedestrian park along Riverside Drive. Local artisans Mark Joseph Oliver and Jacqueline Oliver of Foundation Woodworks are creating the archways from Hurricane Helene salvaged wood, concrete, and steel. Every cyclist, runner, and walker who passes through will be welcomed by timber the storm brought down, given new purpose by local hands.
Thank You
A heartfelt thank you to the Biltmore Championship Asheville and the PGA TOUR for investing in community projects across our region in the tournament’s very first year, and to Explore Asheville for helping share the news. Thank you to RiverLink, our partner on Gateway Park and a fellow grant recipient this year. And thank you to everyone who has supported Echoes along the way. Your support is how Helene’s fallen trees keep becoming places our community can gather.
We’ll share progress as the archways take shape. For the story behind the park, read our earlier update on Gateway Park.
